Sym Accent Chair for Sophomore Semester Project

This chair uses the innate materiality of aluminum and poplar to explore the relationship between structure and flexibility. The challenge with this design was to exploit these characteristics to build a comfortable and ergonomically correct chair. The curved aluminum frame rests gently on the floor and provides a playfully forgiving foundation for the wooden seat; whose open, sweeping faces invite one to settle in and relax.
